Lakeside Point Gardens History:

In the Beginning . . . . . .

Lakeside Point Gardens is a community of 262 apartments, located in eleven buildings on the beautiful 726 acre John Prince Memorial Park with the 338 acre Lake Osborne, and is close to town and shopping centers. Originally planned as an area for 55 years and older retired senior citizens, the population now is diverse. Part of the population is not retired and is employed locally; many are completely retired; others are snowbirds living here in the wintertime.

Construction was started in 1966 and was completed several years later. Also, a club house and an Olympic-sized swimming pool were built, with shuffleboard and a putting green - and these on a land contract.

Throughout the years there have been many social gatherings at the club house – Lakeside Poinciana Women’s Club potluck suppers, ladies’ luncheons & pool parties; Poinciana Players acting group; Men’s Club breakfasts, lunches & dinners; Craft Club “Trash, Craft & Bake” sales; Line Dancing; Book Club; and many other get-togethers.

Another unique feature of Lakeside Point Gardens is that each building has its own COA (Condo Owner Association)  with its own distinct board members and bylaws. As a community, however, Lakeside Point Gardens residents must share in the 99-year lease of the Club House, swimming pool, and general community maintenance.
